Message from the Major
DERBY 151! "The Run for the Roses" will take place this weekend May 3rd, and LMPD will be out in full force protecting the Louisville community. Although many officers have been detailed to the event, the 2nd Division will have plenty of officers to handle calls-for-service and to address any emergency situations. The 2nd Division will also have officers detailed to Chickasaw Park, Shawnee Park and Victory Park for additional visibility and deterrence of any criminal activity that may occur. We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Derby.
Also, May will bring to a close most Jefferson County Public Schools. Numerous summer activities, educational events and camps are available all across the city to keep your children busy while continuing to learn. These opportunities provide a great value for children to grow, develop and meet new friends. Below within this newsletter you'll find more information about these opportunities.
Please share this e-newsletter with family, friends and neighbors. Encourage them to sign up for the newsletter as well so more community members can be reached through direct contact. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, contact information can be found at the bottom of the newsletter. Thank you again for subscribing to the 2nd Division E-Newsletter.
