Childcare Survey for District 22 Residents

Attention District 22 residents! Louisville Metro Government wants to hear from parents or guardians of children 0-8 years old about the types of childcare you currently use, barriers and challenges you have encountered obtaining childcare, and the type of childcare you prefer. The information gathered is completely anonymous and will help inform meaningful changes in childcare services. The survey will take less than 10 minutes to complete, and you can provide your input by following the link below.  (Survey deadline:  February 28th)

Lumos Fiber Beginning Construction in Hudson Lane & Bardstown Road Area Near Stony Brook

Lumos 1Lumos 2

Lumos Fiber is scheduled to begin construction on a fiber placement project within the next 4 weeks. The work will include installing new ducts through new handholes in the street or public right-of-way. The project will also include pulling fiber along the project route. A Lumos Fiber contractor will perform the construction with the work, being overseen and inspected by a Lumos Fiber Construction Engineer. This project should greatly increase the fiber connectivity in the area.

Here's how the project works and what you can expect:

  • Work will generally be between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM but may extend to 7:00 PM, if permits allow.
  • The contractor will decide the order of work for each street. You can usually tell when work is to begin on your street by the street markings, flags, and equipment being moved onto your street.
  • Construction activities will likely result in some general inconvenience with both traffic and restoration. Following construction, all disturbed grassy areas will be restored, and all disturbed paved areas will be repaved with like material. It is our intent to restore disturbed areas to a condition as good as existed prior to construction.
  • While working there may be parking restrictions on the street during work hours.

Concerns of an emergency nature should be directed to the 24-hour customer service line at (855) 476-8577. Get more information by calling 855-GO- LUMOS or filling out the construction feedback form at https://www.lumosfiber.com/contact-us/.

Planning and Zoning Updates

9911 & 10019 Wingfield Road (Case 25-ZONEPA-0005) is scheduled for a Neighborhood Meeting at 6 PM on Tuesday, February 25th at the Fern Creek Community Center (6104 Bardstown Road).  For more information about the nature of this proposal and how to participate in the meeting or otherwise comment for the public record, contact Case Manager Molly Clark (molly.clark@louisvilleky.gov or 502-574-8656).

11380 Seatonville Road (Case 24-ZONE-0127) now has a formal application submitted.  There are some issues to be addressed before it is scheduled for a public hearing.  Once planning staff consider those issues to be sufficiently addressed, the proposal will next be scheduled for a review by the Land Development & Transportation Committee (which only focuses on technical details of the plan to make sure those are ready for the Planning Commission to do its overall review).  A petition for a night hearing has been successful, so when the Planning Commission hearing is scheduled, it will be in the evening at the Fern Creek Christian Church at 9419 Seatonville Road.  For more information about the nature of this proposal and how to participate in the meeting or otherwise comment for the public record, contact Case Manager Molly Clark (molly.clark@louisvilleky.gov or 502-574-8656).  All comments for the public record must be submitted prior to the Planning Commission meeting.

8803, 8805 and 8807 Old Bardstown Road (Case 24-ZONE-0105) is now scheduled for review and decision by the Planning Commission on Thursday, March 6th.  The discussion in the recent LD&T meeting indicated a change in the proposal.  The Goodwill store portion of the land continues to need C1 zoning.  The additional 3 sites are now anticipated to be some sort of medical offices and thus the developer will be seeking OR1 zoning (rather than C1) for that portion of the land.  For more information about the nature of this proposal and how to participate in the meeting or otherwise comment for the public record, contact Case Manager Molly Clark (molly.clark@louisvilleky.gov or 502-574-8656).  All comments for the public record must be submitted prior to the Planning Commission meeting.

9300 & 9308 Old Bardstown Road, 10313 & 10311 R Thixton Lane, Parcel ID 066600250000 (Case 24-ZONE-0088) was approved by the Planning Commission on Thursday, February 20th.  This completed the public record that will be the basis for Metro Council review and action in the following 30-90 days.

8915 Old Bardstown Road (Case 24-ZONE-0113) and 11401 Race Road (Case 24-ZONE-0115) were both passed by the Planning Commission on Thursday, February 6th.  This completed the public record that will be the basis for Metro Council review and action in the following 30-90 days.

9413 and 9417 Old Bardstown Road: Case 24-CUP-0270 was approved by the Board of Zoning Adjustment on Monday, February 17th and Case 24-DDP-0084 was approved by the Development Review Committee on Wednesday, February 19th.  Since the land for this proposed use (Orthopedic Surgery Center) was already zoned C1, this completes the process for proposal approval.  According to Planning staff, it does not go to the Planning Commission or the Metro Council.  For more information about what has been approved, contact Case Manager Molly Clark (molly.clark@louisvilleky.gov or 502-574-8656).

REMINDER: One beneficial and convenient way for you to share your thoughts on a case (to be part of the public record) is to use this form.
