OLD CLARK STATION EMERGENCY CLOSURE OF WEST BRIDGE

OLD CLARK STATION EMERGENCY CLOSURE OF WEST BRIDGE

FROM KYTC and Metro Public Works

We received notification from Kentucky Transportation (KYTC) regarding the western most bridge on Old ClarkStation which outlets onto Finchville Rd /Hwy 148 in Jefferson County that was a hole observed in one of the boxbeams and we must not traffic over that beam. We have looked at ways to limit this to one way traffic however, we are of the opinion that the roadway will be narrow to allow passenger vehicles to safely pass over this bridge. Therefore, we are going to completely close this bridge to traffic and drivers will need to utilize an alternative route.

Please note we are working on providing a new connection onto FInchville Rd / Hwy 148. In December wereceived concurrence from the railroad, Norfolk Southern, to resume our project and are awaiting appropriate workingconditions to remobilize to the site in order to complete this work. Based on our contractors estimated schedule, weanticipate having this work completed by the end of March. Please note that asphalt placement is temperature andweather dependent. The project will continue thereafter as bridge we are closing was scheduled to decommissioned with this project however, that should have minimal impact to abutting homeowners once the newconnection to FInchville Rd /Hwy 148 is open.
