Thank you and so long
On behalf of Councilman Mulvihill, thank you for your support over the past nine years and the wonderful opportunity to serve you and represent District 10 and our city.
During his service on the Metro Council, he wrote legislation to improve public safety, including prohibiting illegal firearms discharge and regarding vendors and pedestrians.
Infrastructure improvements to District 10 during Councilman Mulvihill’s time in office include providing pedestrian connectivity by installing missing segments of sidewalks, installed pickleball courts in George Rogers Clark Park, and planned and created the Walking Path/Pedestrian Bridge over Beargrass Creek.
He helped fund many district/neighborhood social and cultural events and continued to work to fund the MUSCL Senior Center in Schnitzelburg after redistricting mapped it in a different district as many D-10 residents continue enjoy the benefits the Center has to offer.
He thanks all Council and District staff for their attentive and thoughtful service to District 10.
Following several decades in public service, including Assistant County Attorney under Irv Maze, co-director of the Louisville/Jefferson County Merger Transition Office, and Mayor Greg Fischer's general counsel and Director of Legislative Affairs, Councilman Mulvihill chose not to seek a third term, passing the baton.
Former State Representative Josie Raymond ran unopposed and will represent District 10 on Metro Council. Councilman Mulvihill and D-10 support staff are working with Councilmember Raymond to provide a smooth transition. Councilman Mulvihill wishes Councilmember-Elect Raymond all the best and much success in her new role as D-10 Metro Councilmember, acknowledging the District is in very capable hands.
Happy New Year!
Have a safe and happy New Year's Eve and Day! Health and happiness to you and yours in the new year ahead.
