Please be advised that the Louisville Metro Office of Planning, in partnership with the Office of Arts & Creative Industries, will be installing a public art & safety project in the Parkland neighborhood from October 4-6, 2024. If rain should prevent installation, the alternate dates for installation are October 25-27, 2024.
28th St, from Dumesnil St to Virginia Ave, will be closed to all through traffic during that time. Dumesnil St will remain open, while Virginia Ave will be close to traffic. There will be no traffic or parking permitted from 8:00am-9:00pm Friday, October 4th through Sunday, October 6th. All sidewalks will remain open and clear, but crosswalks and ramps will be barricaded. These closure times also apply to the alternate installation timeline.
Louisville Metro has employed Safe Zone Services to manage the road closure and traffic plan. They will be deploying road closure signage on the afternoon of Thursday, October 3rd and removing it on the night of Sunday, October 6th after the installation is complete and paint has dried. These closure times also apply to the alternate installation timeline.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
