Let's Discuss Our Furry Friends!
This month's community chat will include special guests from LMAS and the Kentucky Humane Society.
We are thrilled to have representatives who are deeply committed to the welfare and happiness of animals. They will share valuable insights on pet adoption, caring tips, and stories of successful rescues that will warm your heart.
Additionally, the floor will be open to ask any questions you might have about our furry companions or anything else going on in our district.
Get ready to learn, share, and celebrate the joy that pets bring into our lives. We can't wait to see you there!

Help improve Louisville’s Tree Canopy with a 5-minute Survey
Louisville Parks and Recreation, TreesLouisville have initiated The Louisville Tree Plan with the goal of creating a more healthy, equitable, and livable community for Louisville. These organizations have launched a quick survey to get the public’s input on understanding community needs and priorities.
A study conducted in 2015 showed a trend of Louisville losing its tree canopy which can be a cause for recent challenges with heat stress and air quality. For over a decade dedicated tree organizations have been working to reverse this trend.
Louisville Parks and Recreation’s Urban Forestry division has been working to improve the tree canopy on public land throughout the city. However, there are significant inequalities that need attention.
Take a quick 5 minute survey here express your interest and understanding of Louisville’s tree canopy. (Haga clic aquí para la versión en español.)

  Report Odors
The Air Pollution Control District encourages residents to familiarize themselves with air quality tools and resources that are available to them. Notably:
- Residents can sign up to receive alerts when air quality is forecast to be poor, this is especially valuable for sensitive groups like older adults, children, and those with pre existing conditions like asthma.
- Residents can access live air quality conditions and health guidance 24/7 with resources like APCD’s Louisville Air Watch at lousivilleky.gov/air (graphic attached)
- If residents see or experience air pollution issues like odors, open burning, or dust we encourage them to report those to us with as much detail as possible (graphic attached)
We also encourage local businesses to sign up as Air Quality Action Partners by taking a few voluntary steps to improve air quality in Louisville.
