August 6 - LMPD National Night Out

National Night Out

They will also be conducting a cell phone drive. The Louisville Metro Police Foundation is partnering with the Victim Services Unit and 911 Cell Phone Bank (911cellphonebank.org). They collect used working and non-working/broken cell phones, reset the devices to factory settings, guarantee complete data erasure and if they cannot erase the data, the device gets recycled through a licensed R2 recycler.

The program provides the phones to law enforcement and victim services agencies for distribution to vulnerable residents in communities nationwide.

Donating your old cell phone is a way to support the work of 911 Cell Phone Bank and give back to our community by ensuring victims of crime have meaningful access to emergency services.

August 13 - Conversation with a City Planner at South Central Regional Library

City Planners from Louisville Metro’s Office of Planning will be available to answer questions about zoning (What is zoning? Why does it matter?) and discuss the ongoing LDC Reform project, including Middle Housing. We want to hear about your neighborhood and discuss what the reform means for you!

City Planner

These conversations are part of the ongoing Land Development Code (LDC) Reform. The LDC Reform is an equity focused approach to revise the LDC consistently with Plan 2040 to allow for increased housing choices and opportunities in new and existing neighborhoods, to create procedures and regulations that are easier to use and increase the quality of life by reducing the concentration of environmental hazards near housing.
