Cornhole With Cops - Fun Times!

6uik4gujm6465jfuy

This past Saturday, I attended an event held near the Prairie Village Little League fields, located behind Stonestreet Elementary. It was a fun and unique event called Cornhole with Cops. This event was a community gathering that brought together residents and the 3rd Division officers of the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD).

The event started at noon with the smell of hot dogs grilling. Children enjoyed their time in the bounce house, while adults and officers engaged in a friendly cornhole tournament.

The event was not just about fun and games. It was an opportunity for community members to interact with the 3rd Division LMPD officers. The officers took the time to mingle with attendees, answer questions, and build connections.

I cannot stress enough of the importance of such community events in fostering positive relationships and strengthening our community. We look forward to more such events in the future.

South and Southwest Louisville History Initiative

We are thrilled to announce the launch of a new initiative focused on preserving the rich history of South and Southwest Louisville. Our neighborhoods are steeped in stories that have shaped us, and it’s time we bring them to the forefront.

Our objective is to collect and safeguard historical information about our area. This includes everything from old photographs and documents to personal anecdotes and tales that have been passed down through generations.

We are extending an open invitation to all community members to participate in this initiative. Whether you’ve been a resident here for decades with stories to share, or you’re a history enthusiast who has information that could contribute to our understanding of the past, we want to hear from you.

By sharing your stories, photos, and documents, you can help us build a comprehensive archive that truly reflects the unique character and history of our community. Together, we can ensure that the rich history of South and Southwest Louisville is not forgotten, but preserved and celebrated for future generations.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any historical information you’d like to share. Let’s come together to celebrate our past and shape our future.

Please enjoy this headline from 1910 about the opening of the Waverly Hill Sanatorium. P.S. If you'd like the rest of this story (it was very long and detailed), please feel free to contact the office.
