Storm debris drop-off site update:

Due to low participation, the storm debris drop-off site at 600 Meriwether Avenue will remain open for two more days:

  • Today until 6 p.m. 
  • Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Reminder of leash law for all owners who walk dogs in public 

Jefferson County Code Section 91.002: In Louisville and throughout Jefferson County, all dogs are required to be restrained at all times

If you are walking your dog in public, it must be on a leash no longer than four feet long. It's especially important to keep dogs on leashes in our parks, where there is a likelihood that multiple dogs may be present. 


Louisville Metro Animal Services is waiving some adoption fees in July

Bissell empty the shelters ad

Louisville Metro Animal Services is again getting help from the Bissell Pet Foundation's Empty The Shelters national adoption event. 

Bissell Pet Foundation is sponsoring reduced adoption fees through July 31. 

Animal House Adoption Center is at 3516 Newburg Road and open Monday through Sunday, noon to 6 p.m., and Fridays, noon to 7 p.m.

The shelter is over capacity, so please consider adopting.
