THE BAD
Two Indonesian airline pilots fell asleep during a January 25th flight carrying 153 passengers on board. Yes, both the pilot and co-pilot slept while transporting 157 people. The pilots were unreachable for approximately 30 minutes and awoke to find that the plane had veered off course according to an Indonesian National Transportation Safety Committee report.
How does something like this happen you ask? Well, during the pre-flight check, the co-pilot told the pilot that he hadn't sufficiently rested the previous night. The pilot agreed to allow him to sleep for half an hour. On the return flight, the pilot asked the co-pilot if it was ok if he took a short nap this time. They agreed and the pilot slept for a short time, woke and asked the co-pilot if he wanted to nap and was told no, so the pilot resumed his nap. About 20 minutes later, the co-pilot "inadvertently fell asleep" while they were 36,000 feet in the air. 😳
Air traffic control and other pilots tried repeatedly and without success to contact the sleeping beauties piloting the plane for 28 minutes. When the pilot in command finally woke up, he realized the plane had veered off course. He then noticed the co-pilot was snoozing and woke him up.
The pilot blamed the lack of response to air traffic control and other pilots on a problem with the radio communications that had been resolved. The flight then continued and landed at its destination without further incidence.
Investigators said nobody was injured and the aircraft was not damaged. The two pilots were suspended. The Safety Board recommended new safety measures to prevent such incidents from happening again. The investigation also concluded that one of the safety measures already in place had not been followed. The cockpit of the plane is supposed to be checked every half-hour. This incident could have been avoided if the cockpit check policy had been followed.
How often do you think this occurs on commercial airlines? This is so unbelievably disturbing.

TRUTH BOMBS are described in the urban dictionary as surprising but true statements. A fact or piece of knowledge that, when told to a listener, is devastating to the listener's argument or world view.
New Yorker Seth Phillips has gained a cult following for his truth bombs that protest anything from loud engines, phones that shatter easily, “x” in espresso, and other very specific, small things that add up to our daily lives. He has a over 7.5 million followers on social media. Phillips has gone mainstream enough that fashion brands are selling "Dude with Sign" shirts in their collections.
And, of course, there’s always something new to protest. Such as, hot coffee in summer or verifying you’re not a robot online. Those of us who have had enough of everything will get a chuckle out of this series.

1/2 tsp. ground black pepper

Fresh ingredients for a BLT Pasta Salad.
DIRECTIONS
1. Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat, turning as needed, until the fat has rendered, and the bacon is golden and crispy, 8 to 10 minutes. (You may need to cook the bacon in two batches, draining the rendered fat from the skillet between batches.) Let the bacon cool to room temperature, then crumble up into bite-sized pieces.
2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil over high heat. Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain, rinse with cold water, and let cool.
3. Meanwhile, whisk together the mayonnaise, milk, ranch seasoning, lemon juice, parmesan cheese, and black pepper in a large bowl. Add the pasta, tomatoes, lettuce, onion, herbs, and half of the crumbled bacon to the bowl with the dressing. Gently fold together to coat. Top with remaining bacon and serve.
Try substituting fresh spinach for romaine lettuce for an added nutritional benefit.
FYI, 200 L (British Pounds) is equal to $252.77.

BEFORE & AFTER RESCUE DOG TRANSFORMATIONS
According to ASPCA, a staggering 6.3 million companion animals enter animal shelters every year in the US. Every year, more than 900,000 of those animals are euthanized (300,000+ dogs and 500,000+ cats). It is so heartbreaking to know that many of these animals never get a second chance at life.
Who can resist a heartwarming makeover, especially when it involves a sweet dog? Whether they were abandoned, lost or mistreated, these down-on-their luck dogs were in dire need of a loving presence in their lives. That's where caring animal shelters, pet rescues and foster parents come into the picture. With lots of love and much-needed TLC, these rescue dogs started thriving — inside and out. These before-and-after transformation pictures speak for themselves. Hopefully, it will inspire you to adopt a rescue pup of your own.

Khemjira Klongsanun found a sweet little abandoned puppy on the side of the road while running in a marathon in Thailand. She carried the fur baby for 19 miles to the finish the race. She adopted the pup and took it home with her. Now her canine child is all grown up and is happily living with his mom and his canine siblings pictured at the top.
Please consider adopting a pet from your local animal shelter or a pet rescue if you have room in your home and heart for a new furry family member. Trust me, you'll be so glad that you did. 🐾❤️

HAPPY WORK ANNIVERSARY TO ALL!!!
Girl's Day Out.
In the last several years, we have all experienced new challenges that have affected our mental, physical, and social well-being. Many of us have felt anxiety, increased stress, and emotional exhaustion which is why wellness and self-care are more important than ever before. Our wellness journey is an ongoing one, and we have to prioritize our emotional and physical health. Here are some ideas to care for the many dimensions of wellness, so we can nourish our bodies and nurture our minds.
SOCIAL WELLNESS TIPS TO HELP YOU LIVE A HAPPIER AND HEALTHIER LIFE
All aspects of wellness are linked. Small changes in your daily life can make a big difference in the way you appear, feel, and function. For instance, exercise is not just good for the heart, it also helps reduce stress. Although it is impossible to eliminate all stress in life, research shows that it’s how we handle stress that's the most important aspect. The goal is balance. Try some of these tips to help you accomplish social wellness.
1. Join a sports club or sports team. Do you love to play tennis? Join a tennis club or take lessons just for the fun of it. Meet new people while doing something you love.
2. Have lunch with someone new. Break up your routine and do something different.
3. Organize an outing or explore a new place. What about a hike with friends or walking the bridge on a beautiful day. Switch it up a little bit.
4. Improve your active listening skills. If you have a friend, family member or coworker that is going through a difficult time, let them know you are there to listen and support them.
5. Look for similarities rather than differences in others; this helps make connections. We all have far more similarities than differences. Most people basically want the same things in life.
Tennis with Friends.
6. Learn how to apologize wholeheartedly when you are wrong or hurt someone, even unintentionally.
7. Learn the power of forgiveness. When someone hurts you, it’s hard to forget. In the end, holding on to anger only continues to hurt yourself.
8. Socialize off-line as well as online. Face-to-face communication is as important as online interaction.
9. Embrace diversity and be aware of your biases. If everyone were the same, the world would be a very boring place.
10. Make it a regular date. Schedule a day to do something that helps you stay connected. Every Sunday, meet a friend for church, watch a favorite show on Friday evening with a friend, go thrifting together early Saturday morning.
Friends Thift Shopping.
Establishing healthy habits is a challenging but important part of maintaining your wellness. Small actions and simple activities can make a big difference in your holistic health. The holistic approach to health care focuses on the health of the entire body and mind and not just parts of the body.
I pray for equality, unity and peace in every city in our country. Equality for all people everywhere. I pray for justice for all those who have lost their lives needlessly and unjustly. I pray that all people, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation or socioeconomic status be treated with the dignity and respect we all deserve. I pray for change so that healing can begin in this country and around the world.
Amen.
