Floyds Fork DRO Update, Mayor Greenberg Plans, Happy Easter

Metro Council is on our 2-week spring break which simply means we don’t have Council meetings or Committee meetings this week and next.  Our work supporting you and continuing to push legislation that improves our city never sleeps.

First, I wanted to update you on where we are with the changes to the Floyds Fork DRO land development code language.  The Planning Commission recently approved the changes to the code which means the next and final step is Metro Council.  I want to begin by thanking everyone who dedicated so much time and effort into getting to this day.  There are many people in the community who took their personal time to ensure the voices of the public are heard and I will forever be grateful for their work.

The current version has some significant improvements.  As I have stated before, Metro Council will debate this and we will possibly make some additional changes before this is final.  I have been clear that these changes will be smaller tweaks rather than large rewrites.  Metro Council is not the place for re-writing the code.  We are a place where final changes can be made and I expect that will happen with everyone’s input.  I am looking forward to taking this huge leap forward and want to again thank everyone whose diligence will have helped protect the Fork for generations to come.
