Foreman Lane (Foreman Lane) Water Main Replacement Project Louisville Water Co. Project #16224
The Louisville Water Company is scheduled to begin construction on a water main replacement project in your area within 1-4 weeks of this notification letter (see attached map for area details). The work will include installing new water main pipe located in the street or public right-of-way in front of your home or business. The project will also include replacing water service lines along the project route. A Louisville Water Prequalified Contractor will perform the construction with the work being overseen and inspected by a Louisville Water Construction Inspector. This project should greatly reduce the maintenance activities in the area and improve flow rates available for domestic consumption and for fire prevention.
Here’s how the project works and what you can expect: Work will generally be between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM but may extend to 7:00 PM if permit allows. The Contractor will decide the order of work for each street. You can usually tell when work is to begin on your street by the street markings, flags, and equipment being moved onto your street. Some work may cause a temporary water outage during the day. We schedule planned outages 24 hours in advance. The Contractor/Inspector will either knock, or leave a notice, on your front door. Please let me know of any critical water needs that may need to be addressed during these scheduled water outages. We will work with you to address your concerns. Construction activities will likely result in some general inconvenience with both traffic (including road closures and detours) and restoration. Following construction, all disturbed grassy areas will be restored, and all disturbed paved areas will be repaved with like material. It is our intent to restore disturbed areas to a condition as good as existed prior to construction. While we are working on your block, there may not be parking available on the street during work hours. When water meters and service lines are replaced, the Contractor will help the customer with flushing an outside faucet. If a lead service line is encountered, there is a procedure to replace the line. If this occurs the customer will be notified to discuss details.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at (502) 569-3600 ext. 3688. during normal work hours or by email at jmclark@louisvillewater.com . After-hours and on weekends, this number is monitored by a voicemail system. Concerns of an emergency nature should be directed to the 24-hour customer service line at (502) 583-6610.
