Metro Councilman Robin Engel (District 22) will host a public input meeting for a new library that will be constructed in the Fern Creek area. Louisville Free Public Library Director Lee Burchfield, architects from Studio Kremer of Louisville and Studio Shea of New York, a representative from the Library Foundation as well as Council members Robin Engel (District 22), Stuart Benson (District 20) and Jeff Hudson (District 23) will be present. The meeting will serve as an update on progress for the project with renderings being presented for viewing as well as comments and suggestions being accepted as Metro looks to build a library that meets our community’s needs.

The Film Premiere of "This is the Ohio: Life, Death, and Rebirth of the Beautiful River" at the Louisville Free Public Library Main Branch on Wednesday Jan. 24. is a free event. The reception hosted by Kentucky Waterways Alliance and the Ohio River Way begins at 5, Morgan McGarvey welcomes everyone at 6, and after a few more introductions at 6:15 the documentary screening starts, the evening will conclude with a panel discussion about the Ohio River moderated by Susan Griffin Ward, the panelists are Deborah Bilitski, Dr. Nancy Theiss, Dr. Perry Thomas and Frances Menone. The Jan 24 screening of the documentary is hosted by the Louisville Free Public Library, Kentucky Waterways Alliance and the Ohio River Way.
