Non-profit organizations in Louisville have one week to apply for the next Lawn Care for Cleaner Air Community Equipment Grant.
The grant, first awarded in 2022, provides a package of electric lawn equipment to a local non-profit organization to support their maintenance needs while expanding and encouraging the use of lower-emission lawn equipment.
All non-profits located in Jefferson County are eligible to apply through January 19, 2024. The equipment package, which includes an electric mower, trimmer, blower, and extra rechargeable battery, will be awarded in early spring for the 2024 lawncare season.
The grant is part of the APCD’s Lawn Care for Cleaner Air program, which offers rebates to Louisville residents that purchase lower-emitting lawn equipment, and even larger rebates to those that also trade in their old gas-powered equipment. Since its inception in 2003 the program has issued over 12,000 rebates, preventing nearly five million pounds of air pollution.
