Night of Remembrance is a community-wide event that will give a solemn recognition to Louisville's 2023 victims of violence. Violence is a community issue because it is affecting everyone's public health, well-being, and sense of safety.
Join the Office for Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods this Friday at Bates Memorial Baptist Church where these tragic victims will be solemnly recognized and respectfully remembered with multi-faith prayers, music and lights.
This event is free and open to the public.

Each month, artists and shops of the Mellwood Art Center open their doors so you can explore and shop with them for unique handmade goods, fine art, and more!
Guests can enjoy dinner at Danny Mac’s Pizza or try unique craft brews at Butchertown Brewing. Find opportunities to try new things, buy art, and just learn about what’s going on in the arts community at Mellwood!
Pets on-leash are allowed in the facility, but individual businesses or studios may have restrictions on animals for health and safety reasons.

Family Fun Days are free fun-filled days of programming for families and friends of all ages! Family Fun Days are organized in conjunction with each of KMAC Museum's quarterly exhibitions and feature a number of exciting activities and free admission to the museum all day.
Art-lovers of all ages will be able to contribute to the Community Art Project in Studio 715, create their own woodland scene like Dan Gunn in the Education Studio, sing along with UofL Music Therapy Group, explore current exhibitions, watch a woodworking demonstration, and enjoy food from Froggy's Popcorn!

January 14th, 4 p.m.
The Freedom Award will be given to citizens who best exemplify the ideals of Dr. King's vision, while the celebration will honor and recognize all the outstanding citizens of Louisville who have received this honor. The 2024 Keepers of the Dream program will highlight Black Joy. The civil rights movement was a trying time but, through the crevices of trauma, Black Americans still managed to find hope and joy.
Mayor Craig Greenberg will present the Freedom Award in Whitney Hall honoring this year's two recipients. More information on this year's recipients will be shared soon.
There will be performances by River City Drum Corp, Keen Dance Theatre, and Redline Performing Arts. Also featuring LaNita Rocknettes School of Dance, The Real Young Prodigys, The Louisville Living Room, Joshua Percell and Courageous, UofL African American Theatre Program, and much more. Preshow performance 4 to 4:45 p.m. by Redline Performing Arts in The Kentucky Center Lobby, and a post-show performance from River City Drum Corp.
This event is free and open to the public, FREE parking available in The Kentucky Center Garage.

Lights on Main is teaming up with Frazier History Museum to bring you a dazzling Christmas tree exhibit like never before! 75 trees will be decorated for the holiday season and placed throughout all three floors of the museum, intended to promote community and attract patrons to the downtown business district, and most importantly provide funding free after-school programs for 300 children in the city of Louisville.
Guests will step into a magical winter wonderland with three floors of trees carefully decorated by local schools, organizations, families, and individuals. To ensure everyone can see it, the Frazier is extending hours on Wednesday evenings and opening at no cost to visitors on December 17th. Lights on Main is indoors for the first time, there will also be programming with school choirs, pop-up markets, partner Bourbon tastings, and a Santa photo op in the galleries.
On December 17th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. enjoy a free Family Day sponsored by Walmart at the Frazier History Museum. Enjoy a fun-filled day with diverse holiday celebrations, meet Santa and the Grinch, shop for unique gifts, savor delicious food from Con Aji y Cafe food truck, and create lasting memories with your loved ones.
