Greetings District 16 residents,
I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to write or call my office with questions and concerns regarding the growing number of roadway construction projects around District 16. Like many of you who commute through the daily road construction around the new VA hospital, I am frustrated with the extended delays. Most of these projects are in District 16 or just outside of our Metro Council boundaries.
In an effort to provide residents a more clear, holistic understanding of current and future projects, my office worked with Louisville Metro Public Works and Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC 5th Division) to construct this project overview of the biggest roadway projects our area.
In the overview, each project has been identified by roadway, project name, the responsible department (State, Louisville Metro, etc.) estimated project timeline, and a brief description of the work. For larger projects such as the interchange reconfiguration around the new VA hospital we have provided a link to KYTC’s larger project description.
If you have questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to my office.
Thank you for your patience as we navigate through these projects together.
Scott
