Dear Neighbor,

This letter is to inform you of an upcoming neighborhood meeting regarding the request described above. At this meeting we will discuss the Conditional Use Permit request, present the concept plan and hear your comments. A pre-application plan has been filed with Planning and Design Services and assigned case #23-CUPPA-0327 and case manager, Amy Brooks.

The meeting will be held on Thursday December 21, 2023, at 6:00 pm in the Bluegrass meeting room at Hampton Inn & Suites Louisville East, 1451 Alliant Avenue, Louisville, KY 40299.

Proposal Summary
The proposal is to obtain a Conditional Use Permit for a Private Institutional use to allow the development of a Hindu temple and cultural center. In addition to the temple an assembly hall and gymnasium will be provided for the use of the members, as well as residences for the church elders. The grounds will be enclosed with a fence and signature entrance and will contain walking trails, picnic areas, 2 sports fields and a playground. The current zoning of the property is R4, and the form district is Neighborhood. These will not be changed as the proposed use is appropriate for both.

All landscaping and buffer areas required by the Land Development Code will be provided, the applicable buffer areas are indicated on the development plan.

Sanitary sewers will be provided by connection to the existing sewer lines with approval from MSD. Increased storm water will be addressed with the provision of detention in the existing ponds on the site. The post-development rate of runoff will not exceed the pre-development
conditions.
