Nutcracker Family Storytimes
Louisville Ballet and the Louisville Free Public Library are excited to announce the return of Nutcracker Family Storytimes to seven library locations in November.
Children of all ages and their families are invited to join Louisville Ballet dancers for readings of the classic holiday story The Nutcracker, followed by Nutcracker-inspired dancing and crafts. In addition, every family at each storytime can enter for a chance to win four tickets to see Louisville Ballet’s upcoming production of The Brown-Forman Nutcracker.

Winter is approaching and we are requesting your help! Donate what you can and help someone stay warm this season.
The Louisville Zoo is celebrating Wild Winter Days presented by Kroger Nov. 1, 2023 through Feb. 29, 2024. Wild Winter Days offers Zoo guests discounted Zoo and incorporates a food drive for Dare to Care Food Bank.
Guests who bring at least one non-perishable food item per person may purchase discounted tickets at the Zoo ticket windows for $10 per adult and $7 per child/senior ticket. Twenty-five cents of every admission will also support conservation efforts of the Louisville Zoo.

USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships
The Louisville Sports Commission is excited to announce that the USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships are back at Joe Creason Park on Dec. 5-10. With more than 1,500 competitors expected to attend, this year’s event features 36 championship races where Juniors, Collegiate, Masters and Elites will be crowned.
The Sports Commission is looking for volunteers to help make the event a success. As a volunteer, you will be in the heart of the action. So, whether you have a passion for cycling or just enjoy being a volunteer, your time, energy and support are invaluable to our ability to provide our participants with a safe, organized and fun experience.

Louisville Metro's Office for Women is looking for ambassadors for 2024
The Office for Women Ambassadors is a six-month training program for women and gender diverse individuals who represent the diverse communities across Metro Louisville. Through the program, participants will develop and hone their leadership skills, learn about issues impacting women, and explore government and community programs available to women. The OFW Ambassadors will serve as community liaisons, sharing out information about vital community services and communicating back to government about the needs of women in their communities.

Fundraiser for Wilder Park Children Holiday Party
The Wilder Park Neighborhood Association and Louisville Ghost Walks have teamed up for an ongoing fundraiser to raise money for Wilder Park's annual children's Holiday Party!
Louisville Ghost Walks has agreed to donate $3.00 of each ticket sold to the Wilder Park Neighborhood Association for the financial underwriting for the purchase of children's gifts, food, and prizes for the annual party held in December. Louisville Ghost Walks offers the walks every Friday night throughout the year, and Saturday nights in July. The tour features downtown Louisville's most famous haunted addresses! Locations include The Brown Hotel and Theatre, the Kentucky Theater, the Palace Theater, and the Seelbach Hotel, and with other stops along the way.
Admission is $23.00 per person for the 90-minute walk of downtown, and $3.00 will be donated to the Wilder Park Holiday party.

Air Pollution Control District Trainings
APCD has announced a new series of its award-winning Clearing the Air Community Workshops. The workshops provide the community with an inside look at the work of their local air pollution control agency and an opportunity to interact with the professionals tasked with protecting Louisville's air.

LMPD International Leadership Program
The Louisville Metro Police International Leadership Program (ILP) is a four-month interactive environment designed to deliver the Louisville Metro International leaders a basic knowledge of how the police department operates. The ILP will help community relations efforts in the department, along with other city agencies to address specific immigrant community concerns. The goal of the Louisville Metro Police ILP is to strengthen relationships in the community by fostering a greater understanding of the role of law enforcement through frank discussion and education.
