Metro Council passes ordinance changing short term rental rules

Louisville Metro seal

At last night's Metro Council meeting, the council passed an ordinance amending the rules regarding short term rentals.

The ordinance closes a loophole that allowed some non-owner occupied STR properties to avoid the permitting process.

The ordinance increases the yearly registration for short term rental properties from $100 to $250, which will be used for related software and to hire an enforcement officer.
