From the Metro Office of Planning...
A public meeting was held at St Joseph’s on July 6th. The meeting was well-attended. The vast majority of attendees resided near the eastern portion of the project and were opposed to the proposal that was presented. The recurring theme was potential delays, with many specific comments referencing challenges related to school queuing in the morning and afternoon. KYTC, Louisville Metro and elected officials utilized this feedback to create a new proposal that moves the new configuration back to Mockingbird Valley Road. This will allow for a longer queuing area for the school, improved sight-lines for people coming from Mockingbird Valley and dedicated left turn lanes at Hillcrest Ave. This new proposal was vetted through representatives from each neighborhood along the corridor’s project area. Elected officials and representatives from surrounding neighborhoods attended.

KYTC’s consultants plan to do a couple of base failure repairs on US 42 / Brownsboro the last couple weeks of August and then they will begin milling the road on September 5, 2023. The project should take approximately two weeks to complete. Construction will occur at night so impacts should be minimal.
