Michelle King appointed Assistant Director of Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District |

On July 31, 2023, Michelle King was appointed as Assistant Director of the Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District.
Michelle has served the District for more than 18 years, most recently as Director of Program Planning & Executive Administrator, developing an expertise in urban air quality issues and the strategies local governments and community partners employ to address them. Michelle also serves as Vice Chair of the Louisville Sustainability Council’s Board of Directors, on the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Clean Fuels Coalition, and on the Steering Committee of the Partnership for a Green City. Michelle earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Morehead State University, a Master of Public Affairs in Environmental Policy from the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
In her new role as Assistant Director, Michelle will build on her previous work at the District, including efforts to develop and implement community engagement programs, guide policy development, and direct staff and resources to build air quality awareness, increase transparency in the District’s work, and reduce pollution throughout Louisville.
