Councilman Mulvihill joined Camp Taylor neighbors and other interested parties Thursday evening to offer feedback on the new Camp Taylor Memorial Park Pool.

The open house, hosted by Metro Parks, was the first in a series of meetings to get input from citizens on improvements they would like to see at local pools.

Constituents were encouraged to place dots on a board displaying various options of the pool/water play features they would like to see in a replacement pool. Options include a splash pad, rock climbing, a water slide, interactive water play, and exercise lanes. |
Metro Council has allocated around $9 million for reconstruction of both the Camp Taylor and Algonquin pools, which were built in the 1960s. The funding is coming from the city budget and the American Rescue Plan.

Citizens may offer input on the new Norton/Camp Taylor Memorial Park pool at Newburg Days, August 11-13. Metro Council staff will be at Petersburg Park taking input about the pool.
