The Hikes Lane Pavement Rehabilitation project continues. The federally funded project mostly includes repairing/replacing concrete pavement, improving curb ramps and sidewalks to make them ADA compliant. Construction costs are estimated to be $7,000,000. Work on the 2.7-mile corridor is anticipated to be completed by late October.

Below is the list of Louisville Metro Public Works road safety improvement and paving projects scheduled for the week of July 17.
Please note that the schedule may have some delays due to weather or other unforeseen issues.

Trade Port Dr. from Cane Run Rd. to Johnsontown Rd.
- Johnsontown Rd. from Cane Run Rd. to the bridge over Black Pond Creek
- Freeport Dr. from Trade Port Dr. to dead end
- Freeport Ct. from Trade Port Dr. to dead end
- Transport Ct. from Freeport Dr. to dead end.
- Blanton Ln. from St. Andrews Church Rd. to Dixie Hwy.
- Long Run Rd. from Shelbyville Rd. to end of Metro ROW.
Additional note: Starting this weekend, PWA's contractor will begin reconstruction work on Trade Port Dr., Johnsontown Rd., Freeport Dr., Freeport Ct, and Transport Ct.
- On each of the next three weekends, the roadways being worked on will be closed to all traffic in order to address intersections and entrances. Each weekday, the roadways being worked on will remain open for access to the businesses.

 Large Item Pickup by appointment is available for households in the Urban Services District. Quickly get rid of up to four large items, once per week, by simply making an appointment on the Metro311 app or website.
Weekly Tip:
When scheduling your appointment, choose the best item option from the dropdown and then describe each item if needed. The more we know, the better we can plan the routes and equipment we use!
If you'd like a representative to attend a community meeting and share about this program or other waste-related topics, contact the Solid Waste Education Department.
 The next Pop-Up Drop-Off event will be on Saturday, July 22, 10am - 2 pm, at Metro Fleet Services, 3515 Newburg Rd. These events are for disposal of large household items and prescription medication, recycling of electronics, tires, metal, household recycling, and document shredding, and composting of bundled yard waste.
Alley Action work in Area D. The Alley Action Clean-up initiative rotates throughout the Urban Services District. Once a given alley area has been completed, a new area will be announced in the Works Week. |
