The 174th St. Joe's Picnic for the Kids, presented by Arby's Foundation, is August 11-12 and we need YOUR help to make it another successful year!
Over 50,000 people will gather together Picnic weekend for food, fun and games - all to support the nearly 1,500 children and family members served by St. Joe's throughout the year.
It takes hundreds of volunteers to make Picnic for the Kids a success and we are so grateful for the time and talent each of our volunteers share - will you be part of the volunteer team supporting our St. Joe's kids?
Individuals and groups are needed in the weeks leading up to Picnic and during Picnic weekend. Volunteers help set-up, run booths, and clean up. If you are able to help for a few hours please contact Pam at pam@sjkids.org today!
Visit the St. Joe's Picnic for the Kids website for all the details about the 174th St. Joe's Picnic for the Kids. More info will be added soon.

The Food Truck Clinic is a one-stop-shop where food and beverage vendors can get the green light from the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness (LMPHW), Louisville Division of Fire and Jefferson County Fire Service, and Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) to legally sell food and drinks to the public.
Every Thursday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., from now until Oct. 19, food trucks and other mobile vendors can stop by the alley at Armory Place, behind the Metro Development Center to get their permits to operate.
The Food Truck Clinic not only benefits vendors, but community members, too. Each Thursday, the public is invited to the clinic to enjoy food and beverages after food trucks get the go ahead to open.

It’s time again for the free, 4-week, citywide Anti Racism Challenge, sponsored by listenlearnact.org, Metro Lean Into Louisville, and the Earth and Spirit Center. It begins July 1st.
This is how it works -- each week during July, participants will receive an email with a list of 10-12 anti-racism activities. These range from reading an article, calling an elected official, making a donation, watching a film or viewing an exhibit by Black artists, patronizing a Black business, etc. We ask participants to choose and complete 3 of the listed activities. The purpose is to keep us all focused and active in challenging racism in our daily lives. This is a personal Challenge -- no one needs to report back to us. If participants are interested, they simply provide their email address (we never share anyone's information) and that puts them on the list to receive our ARC email each week. Here is the link to sign up: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/su/gYgTGac/listenlearnact
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises of an extended closure of Bridge #2 over the Middle Fork of Beargrass Creek (mile point 1.796) in Cherokee Park, located in Jefferson County.
Original plans included repairs to the bridge deck and rails, and improvements to the balustrades and toe walls. Contract crews performing the work identified additional deterioration underneath the deck surface that was visually obstructed before work began, prompting the need to fully replace the bridge. Work will resume once a redesign is finalized and permitting is approved. The anticipated completion date of this project is set for late 2023.
KYTC is coordinating the bridge project with Louisville Parks and Recreation and Olmsted Parks Conservancy.
The date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Visit goky.ky.gov for the latest in traffic and travel information in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. You can also get traffic information for the District 5 counties at facebook.com/KYTCDistrict5 and twitter.com/KYTCDistrict5.
