Storm Debris Drop-Off Plan

April 5, 2023, Storm Debris Drop-Off Plan

This plan will be updated as Public Works crews continue to assess the damage from the storm that occurred on April 5, 2023. Residents may follow @LouPubWorks on Facebook and Twitter or check the Public Works department homepage (https://louisvilleky.gov/government/public-works) for posted alerts.

Residents of Jefferson County are invited to drop off tree debris for free at the Waste Reduction Center, 636 Meriwether Ave, during normal operating hours on April 8 – 15.

Waste Reduction Center Hours:

Tuesday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Saturday, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

(The Waste Reduction Center is closed on Sundays and Mondays.)

Since all tree debris will be composted, it may not be mixed with any other materials. This free drop-off for tree debris only and is only open to residents of Jefferson County. Residents will be asked to provide their address.

Contractors and businesses who are hauling debris may also use the Waste Reduction Center for the usual fee. Visit Louisvilleky.gov/WRC for details.

Residents using their weekly curbside yard waste collection in the Urban Services District must follow the regular guidelines: limbs must be less than 4 feet long and less than 2 inches in diameter. All material must be in a container or paper bag or tied into bundles weighing less than 60 lbs. Visit Louisvilleky.gov/YardWaste for more information.

Hildegard House Volunteer Training

HH

Join our community of compassionate volunteers at Hildegard House. We provide a home and compassionate care for individuals at the end of life who have no home or loved ones to care for them so that they may die with dignity and access hospice care. We are the family for our residents and care for them just like family members. Compassionate Companions commit to a weekly 5-hour shift. The next volunteer training is May 19 and 20. To learn more about volunteering and register at www.hildegardhouse.org or call Volunteer Coordinator Jana McNally at (502) 581-8267.
