Metro Council leadership updates
 Above, Metro Council at the organizational meeting Tuesday. Former Council President and D-6 Councilman David James and former D-3 Councilwoman Keisha Dorsey, holding proclamations, have joined Mayor Craig Greenberg's administration.
This week, the Louisville Metro Democratic Caucus members elected Councilwoman Paula McCraney (D-7) as Caucus Chair and Councilwoman Cindi Fowler (D-14) as Caucus Vice-Chair.
The Republican members of Louisville Metro Council’s Minority Caucus unanimously re-elected Councilman Anthony Piagentini (D-19) to the position of Caucus Chair and Councilman Kevin Kramer (D-11) as Caucus Vice-Chair.
The Louisville Metro Council unanimously elected President Markus Winkler (D-17) during the first organizational meeting of the year.
At left, outgoing Council President David James passed the gavel to incoming President Markus Winkler.
The next Metro Council regular meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 2.

Metro Council accepting resumes for District 3 and 6 vacancies
With the departure of D-3 Councilwoman Keisha Dorsey and D-6 Councilman David James to Mayor Craig Greenberg’s Administration, Metro Council is seeking applicants to serve those districts.
James will serve as Deputy Mayor for Emergency Services, and Dorsey has been named Deputy Chief of Staff. Both began work in their new respective roles on January 4.
