I retired from teaching in 2021 after more than twenty years working with special needs students, mostly at Indian Trail Elementary although I finished out at Farnsley Middle. I currently work part-time at the Louisville Nature Center leading field trips in the spring and fall. I can’t think of a better retirement job than hanging out in the woods with children teaching them to love nature.
My husband and I have never had children although we are pet parents to Tiny (a chihuahua-poodle mix), Brisco ( an Australian Shepherd puppy who has never met a stranger) and Parker (an orange and white cat who will keep Brisco entertained). I love running and hiking, which is good because Brisco needs A LOT of exercise, and riding my bike whenever I get the chance.
Now you know a little about me. I look forward to learning about you, and how we can work together to make District 21 the best place to live, work and play in Louisville.
Betsy Ruhe is sworn in as Metro Council District 21 Councilwoman on January 3, 2023.
