The Halloween Balloon Glow at Lynn Family Stadium will feature hot air balloon trick-or-treating from 6 to 10 p.m. The event will also feature two hot air balloons offering tethered rides for an additional fee, and a balloon set up for a commemorative family photo in front of the stadium!
Costumes are encouraged, and candy bags will be provided to trick-or-treat at each balloon and other stations throughout the stadium. Enjoy a family fun zone with inflatables, music, performances, vendors, seasonal food, refreshments and more!

Celebrate books this weekend at the Louisville Book Festival! This annual event celebrates and promotes the love and the benefits of reading, writing, and literacy.
Attendees will be able to Meet & Greet more than 100 authors, illustrators and industry experts, have books signed by Authors at the event, listen to Story Time and other activities provided by the Louisville Free Public Library (lower-level room 29), enjoy more than six dozen free presentations and so much more!

Hayride on the Hill just doubled in size! Guests and friends are invited to enjoy the fall foliage in both Shawnee Park and Cherokee Park. The event will kick off at Shawnee Park (Pavilion) Saturday, October 29th and will continue the fun at Cherokee Park (atop Baringer Hill) Sunday, October 30th. Entertainment includes music, kids’ Free Play experience, and guided hayrides around the parks. This is your chance to simply walk, run and bike Shawnee and Cherokee parks car-free!

The Halloween Parade & Festival returns after a two-year hiatus this Saturday!
The festival will take place along Broadway and in the Paristown entertainment district from 12 to 9 p.m., with the parade starting at 6 p.m. at the intersection of Baxter & Broadway.
The parade and vendors are free to the public.
This year, the festival has an all-access admission of $5 per person in advance, or $10 per person day of the show. Get your tickets in advance here.
All-access festival admission includes unlimited play in the Family Fun Zone featuring a variety of inflatables and activities for the entire family, full-access to all Jack Daniel's Wicked Garden entertainment from the Blues Brothers, Soul Circus, Freddy & the Cruegers, The Crashers, other live performances and fun festival contests.
Food and refreshments are available at the Village Market, the Cafe, the Garden Bar and other vendors throughout the festival space.
October is National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month. Proceeds from the Halloween Festival and Parade support the Don’t Be A Monster Program in Kentuckiana.

Join the Speed Art Museum for a Día de los Muertos event that celebrates and honors those that have passed.
This free event will include a meal of tamales, pupusas, atole and coffee. Attendees are encouraged to bring a photo of someone that passed away to place it on the altar of the dead (empty frames will be provided).
There will also be crafts for the whole family, face painting and a dance lesson, followed by a live music performance to celebrate life and death at the same time! Food will be served by Foko, pan de muerto by La Pana bakery, coffee by Safai, the face paint art by Styled by Jules, and live music will be by Yapa!

A Louisville tradition for over 40 years, Boo at the Zoo, presented by Meijer, transforms your Zoo into a living storybook, complete with some of your favorite characters brought to life, fun music and a safe place for trick-or-treating for kids 11 and under. Your party ticket includes all rides, attractions and parking.
To help provide social distancing and to reduce contact, there will be a limited number of treat booths throughout the Zoo. This year, rather than receiving one treat per booth, kids 11 and under will receive multiple treats at each station!

Ultimate Halloween Fest returns this year to both Paristown Pointe and the Legend of Pope Lick!
This year features several fun activities for Halloween fans of all ages including the free Silver Screams Classic Horror Movie Series at Paristown. Four classic horror films will be shown on the projector screen at Christy's Garden each starting at dusk: Oct. 1 Dracula (1931), Oct. 8 The Wolf Man (1941), Oct. 15 The Invisible Man (1933), Oct. 22 Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948).
Other events include Oktoberfest, Pope Lick Chili Cook-Off, the Great Pumpkin Night and the Spookshow Spectacular all at the Legend of Pope Lick. End the month with the Halloween Balloon Glow and the Halloween Parade at Paristown.
