Council Recap: Bardstown Road Master Plan

Dear District 8,

There are a lot of exciting things happening on Bardstown Road: crosswalk improvements, new street trees, and pedestrian safety measures to name just a few. It's important to build on this momentum, and reengage the community about their future vision for Bardstown Road.

That's why, at the last council meeting, our office funded a Bardstown Road Master Plan. This plan will look strategically at the corridor, and ask the community about what it'd like to see happen next. My goal for this project is to come out of it with some concrete ideas for the future of Bardstown Road--ideas generated by the community that my office can get to work trying to secure funding for. I'm interested in thinking about things like public art, beautification, streetscapes, and green spaces. What would you like to see on the planning agenda?

Curious to learn more? You can read more about what a Master Plan process might look like at this link: https://wfpl.org/whats-the-future-of-bardstown-road-louisville-set-to-devise-a-master-plan/

I hear every day from folks about their ideas for how to improve this important commercial corridor. I hope to hear from each of you about what you'd like to see moving forward. The planning process will kick off in early 2023--more details coming soon!

As always, thanks for reading, and be in touch with questions. Megan and I love to hear from you all!

Best wishes,

Cassie
