Message from Highview Fire Department

HFD

The Highview Fire Protection District began providing EMS Service to the residents of Highview in December of 2019. With the addition of the EMS Service, we are able to provide our residents with Fire and EMS protection 24 hours a day. However, you may wonder why you see a fire truck or ambulance from another fire district responding to an emergency in Highview. We have an answer for that!

Many years ago, the Jefferson County Fire Chief’s agreed to a county-wide mutual aid agreement that allows other fire departments to respond to emergencies outside of their districts. Along with that, all departments also operate off of ‘closest unit’ dispatching. “Why is that?” you may ask. This method of dispatching, just as its name suggests, allows our residents to get a quicker response from the closest emergency vehicle (Fire or EMS) to their emergency, no matter whose name is on the side of the unit. If a Highview unit is on another emergency run, your emergency will be handled by responders from another fire department without delay. This does mean that our Fire and EMS units will occasionally respond to help other departments outside of the Highview Fire Protection District area.  When this occurs, the residents of Highview are still protected by our neighboring departments and will receive prompt and professional responses from our neighboring fire districts.

Please check out our website at www.highviewfire.org and if you have any questions or concerns please ‘contact us.’

Come See The First Show at Highview Arts Center

ShakespearHAC

We have been working hard to finish construction and clean up the space so it is ready to open on September 9th for our very first show, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)!

Your first show is a bunch of Shakespeare? Sounds boring!

Some of you may be thinking "ugh not Shakespeare!" but this is not your high school English class version of Romeo and Juliet. In this hilarious show, three actors attempt to perform ALL of Shakespeare's plays in just 97 minutes! Lovers of Shakespeare will laugh as they recognize the pieces of their beloved plays spliced together, while audience members who aren’t as familiar with the Bard’s work will enjoy the witty banter and slapstick comedy. It is a fast-paced show that will have even the Shakespeare haters roaring with laughter.

THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (ABRIDGED) was London’s longest-running comedy.

Tickets are on sale now!
