The St. Matthews Police Department will once again participate in the National Night Out community event on August 2 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. in the St. Matthews Community Park, 310 Ten Pin Ln. Department vehicles will be on display for kids (and adults) to sit in and officers available to tell about the equipment inside. There will also be equipment for attendees to try on. Several area businesses will have displays and many will have drawings to give away some type of promotional item for their business. Many of the displays are designed for kids and their safety. This year we will again have a "Bicycle Rodeo" presented by Norton Hospital. From mascots walking around, to a hot air balloon, to a bicycle rodeo, to police and fire demonstrations, there is something for all age groups.
