The project is part of the widening of nearby Blue Lick Road
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (July 27, 2022) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of the closure of South Park Road for one week in the Okolona neighborhood of Jefferson County.
South Park Road will be closed to thru traffic from 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 1, to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7, between KY 61 (Preston Highway) to KY 1450 (Blue Lick Road). Local traffic will be allowed, but South Park Road will be blocked just east of KY 1450 for sewer and resurfacing work. The construction is part of the project to widen Blue Lick Road between KY 1450 and Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway).
Electronic message boards were installed to alert drivers of the upcoming closure. Motorists should follow this posted detour: KY 1450 to KY 61 to South Park Road/KY 2845 (East Manslick Road) and vice versa.
The date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
