I've run into a few people recently who mentioned they missed seeing the newsletter the last couple of weeks. That means at least a few of you read it, so that's good news! On a more serious note, I contracted COVID during that timespan and we had some vacations in the office as well. I wanted to send a newsletter out today before school started for many Jefferson County kids, but we'll get back to our regular schedule this Friday. Thank you for understanding!
This week marks the start of the new school year for many of our local districts, including Jefferson County Public Schools. While you've probably finished shopping for school supplies (though, there is always one hard-to-find item it seems!), we all know there are many other things to consider when preparing for a successful year. The JCPS Back-to-School page is a great resource for information on meals, bus routes, COVID guidelines, re-establishing routines, open houses, and more. Here's hoping for a great week!

City planner Joel Dock will be at the Main Library (301 York Street) today until 8 p.m. to answer questions about zoning (what it is, why it matters, etc.) and discuss the ongoing Land Development Code Reform project. This process is an effort to allow for increased housing choices and opportunities in new and existing neighborhoods, create procedures and regulations that are easier to use, and increase quality of life by reducing the concentration of environmental hazards near housing. Click here for more information on the process.
