 We are excited to announce that Councilwoman Amy Holton Stewart is sponsoring a free pet vaccine clinic for District 25 residents in partnership with the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS). On Tuesday, June 21, the KHS CARE-a-van mobile veterinary clinic will be at the Southwest YMCA to provide free core vaccines for dogs and cats with an appointment. These include Rabies,DA2PP and Bordetella for dogs, Rabies and FVRCP for cats, and flea and tick preventatives. Fifty appointments are available.  KY 907 (Third Street Road): Closed from 5 a.m. on June 6 through 5 p.m. on June 10 between Arnoldtown Road at mile point 4 and West Manslick Road at mile point 4.5.
Motorists will have access to homes and businesses, but there will be no thru traffic. Contractors will be shoring up a slope to prevent erosion from damaging the road on a curve near 8311 Third Street Road. The work will require the temporary removal of the guardrail at the curve.
Posted detour: Arnoldtown Road to KY 1931 (St. Andrews Church Road) to Palatka Road to KY 1865 (New Cut Road) and vice versa.
The Louisville Free Public Library’s annual 10-week Summer Reading Program encourages children and teens to read for fun over the summer and helps them avoid summer learning loss.
School-aged children simply read ten books, teens read six books, and preschool-aged children and younger need to read, or have read to them, 20 books to complete the program. Studies have shown that children who participate in public library summer reading programs increase their enjoyment of reading, improve their reading skills, and return to school better prepared to learn.
The 2022 Cultural Pass offers individuals ages 0-21 in Greater Louisville access to arts and culture activities provided by 57 venues, free of charge, from June 1 through September 4, 2022.
The Cultural Pass is designed to inspire, explore, and discover new experiences. This year’s Cultural Pass will offer both in-person and virtual opportunities so that every family can participate in a way that works for them! On the first Saturday of June, July, and August Cultural Pass participants can also attend Cultural Pass Days - click here to learn more. LFPL’s Summer Reading Program and Cultural Pass start June 1 and are FREE to all area youth. You can pre-register now for both programs online or by downloading the Beanstack Tracker app (for iOS or Android). Cultural Passes will be available for pickup June 1st at LFPL libraries.
On Saturday, June 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., you can participate in Summer Reading Kickoff and Cultural Pass Day at the Main Library. Enjoy FREE crafts and activities from the Library and Cultural Pass venues, as well as magic, face painting, and live performances from the Louisville Leopards, Flamenco Dance, and Redline Performing Arts. PLUS - food trucks will be available, so you can have lunch on site too.
 St Anthony Church Road Paving Update:
6/3/22
- The contractor is mobilizing on-site next week to begin work. They will be have some variable message boards in place soon, if not already on-site to let the constituents in the area know of the work and to expect delays.
5/13/22
- Public Works is working with MSD on a cross drain which has caused some erosion onto the hillside supporting the roadway at one location.
- Expect construction & paving work to start on St. Anthony Church Road in the next few weeks
- Expect road closures during construction & paving
- There will be a lot of prep work completed prior to paving including reconstruction of some ditches, adding curbs, replacing cross drains, and some other improvements we plan to install to help with safety.
- MSD also has a cross drain needing to be replaced
- Several lane closures and the MSD cross drain will likely require a full closure for a few days.
- Public Works will send out those closure notifications as they are planned to occur.
St. Anthony Church Road Sidewalk Project:
- Currently in right-of-way acquisition phase
- Plan approved
- Expect construction to begin Fall 2022
Barrett Lane Private Road Dedication & Paving:
- Awaiting final approval from MSD on the dedication and then the deed needs to be recorded.
- Paving will be scheduled once right-of-way dedication and deeds are recorded
