 Councilwoman Holton Stewart toured Metro Corrections to see the improvements since Director Collins took over leadership of LMDC and to visit with the K-9 Dogs she worked to fund to fight drugs entering our jail.
The dogs are already helping fight narcotics and paraphernalia in conjunction with full body scanners

 We are excited to announce that Councilwoman Amy Holton Stewart is sponsoring a free pet vaccine clinic for District 25 residents in partnership with the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS). On Tuesday, June 21, the KHS CARE-a-van mobile veterinary clinic will be at the Southwest YMCA to provide free core vaccines for dogs and cats with an appointment. These include Rabies,DA2PP and Bordetella for dogs, Rabies and FVRCP for cats, and flea and tick preventatives. Fifty appointments are available. The event will also offer free pet food for dogs and cats on a first-come-first-serve basis while supplies last. To schedule an appointment for free pet vaccines, visit www.kyhumane.org/careavan.

 St Anthony Church Road Paving Update:
- Public Works is working with MSD on a cross drain which has caused some erosion onto the hillside supporting the roadway at one location.
- Expect construction & paving work to start on St. Anthony Church Road in the next few weeks
- Expect road closures during construction & paving
- There will be a lot of prep work completed prior to paving including reconstruction of some ditches, adding curbs, replacing cross drains, and some other improvements we plan to install to help with safety.
- MSD also has a cross drain needing to be replaced
- Several lane closures and the MSD cross drain will likely require a full closure for a few days.
- Public Works will send out those closure notifications as they are planned to occur.
St. Anthony Church Road Sidewalk Project:
- Currently in right-of-way acquisition phase
- Plan approved
- Expect construction to begin Fall 2022
Barrett Lane Private Road Dedication & Paving:
- Awaiting final approval from MSD on the dedication and then the deed needs to be recorded.
- Paving will be scheduled once right-of-way dedication and deeds are recorded
 Louisville Water’s project to install a new water main in Southwest Jefferson County is progressing. Crews have wrapped up their work on Mills Drive and have started work on Blanton Lane.
This work requires Blanton Lane to be closed between St. Andrews Church Road and Mills Drive.
Above is a map of the project and detour. The work on Blanton is expected to last approximately 3 months. Once completed, they will start work on St. Andrews Church Road.
