Coffee With Your Councilman

I wanted to remind everyone that my next "Coffee with your Councilman" will be Monday evening from 6:30-8 at the Northeast Regional Library, 15 Bellevoir Circle. This is a great opportunity to find out what's happening in metro government and share any questions or concerns you have.

Berrytown Neighborhood Plan Meeting

The third community meeting towards the development of a neighborhood plan for Berrytown will be held Tuesday, May 24 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Berrytown Recreation Center, 1300 Heafer Road. This plan will help guide the future of Berrytown, so public participation is vital. New Charmoli Center Neighborhood Place Opening Monday

The Charmoli Center Neighborhood Place, formerly located in the East Government Center, will begin providing services Monday, May 16 at its new location, 9100 Marksfield Road. Initially, what's offered will be limited to rental assistance, utility assistance, and information/resources. A broader array of services will be available on site as partner agencies move in, the facility becomes fully staffed, etc. For more information about available services or to schedule an appointment, click here or call 574-5787. 

9th Annual How-To Festival

The Louisville Free Public Library's How-To Festival is back for its ninth year. Want to learn how to perform your own bicycle maintenance? Interested in learning how to make and decorate your own dog treats? Have you always wanted to learn to salsa dance? All these offerings and many, many more will be available tomorrow from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Main Library, 301 York Street. Sessions will be located in more than 15 areas throughout the building and surrounding grounds. Food trucks will be on site as well. Use the link above for a full list of classes and times. 
 

Butterflies n' Blooms Exhibit Opens Tomorrow

The Louisville Zoo's Butterflies n' Blooms exhibit opens tomorrow. This seasonal exhibit, open from 10:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. each day until September 18, is free with zoo admission or membership. If you haven't been before, visitors have the opportunity to walk amongst hundreds of native butterflies sipping nectar from colorful flowers in a 1,000 square foot flight house located across from the bongo exhibit. The zoo's website has a list of butterfly species scheduled to make an appearance, ideas for how you can help butterflies and other pollinators where you live, and much more.
