The Louisville Zoo will be participating in the Mayor’s Give a Day project this year on Saturday, April 16 with a cleanup along the Jim King Trail.
The Jim King Trail runs behind the Zoo’s property and along Bear Grass Creek. The path is approximately one mile starting at the Zoo’s Bus Lot and ending at the entrance to the Kensington neighborhood.
Between 8 and 11 a.m., volunteers will clean up and tidy up this natural area along the pathway. All participants will need to sign in and complete a Zoo Volunteer Waiver. For more information and to RSVP, email: Marguerite.Esrock@louisvilleky.gov.
The 2022 Mayor’s Give A Day Celebration of Service is a full month of giving in April. Give A Day started as a one-day service opportunity in 2011, and then grew to a week, and in 2019, it spanned 10 days, setting records each year for volunteers and acts of compassion – a total of 235,000 in 2019. Since 2011, Give a Day has amassed 1.3 million acts of compassion.
