WOMAN SHOCKED BY OLDER BROTHER'S DEMAND FOR HER INHERITANCE MONEY
A 19 year old female medical student asked for advice on a Reddit forum about how to handle the following situation. When she was nine years old and her brother was 22 years old, they lost both of their parents in an accident. Their parents left both siblings a large sum of money that they couldn't get access to until after their 18th birthdays. Since her brother was already 22 years old at that time, he took his money and cut off all contact with his little sister. She was left to be raised by her grandparents. Fast forward 10 years later and her brother shows up asking for money now that she has access to her inheritance.
He spent all his inheritance on a house, wedding, cars and luxury items. Her brother is now married with three children. His wife is a stay at home mom and their family has only his income for support. He loses his job and decides he's entitled to his little sister's inheritance, including the house her parents left her.
Her brother and his wife are pressuring her to give them her house and her inheritance money. She's living in the family home her parents left her and using her inheritance to pay for medical school. Their attempts to convince her to give them basically everything she has are bordering on harassment.
The audacity of some people! My advice to this young lady would be to cut off all contact with her brother as he did when she was orphaned at the age of 9. And if his harassment persists, seek legal advice and a restraining order.
What advice would you give someone in this situation?

Meet Levi, Shalanna Taylor's (D6) very energetic two year old. He’s usually the coolest kid in the room and he has a lot of personality. He loves to be outdoors and being involved in any sport. Shalanna shares that Levi is a sweet child and is very helpful to his momma.
Shalanna says, "Levi loves anything that involves airplanes, cars or trucks, specifically fire trucks."

"He's a pretty good friend, although, he could work on his sharing.
And Levi loves to give hugs," Shalanna said.

A special thanks to Shalanna for letting us spotlight her adorable son in this edition of the Kid's Korner. I wouldn't be surprised to see Levi grow up to be a fire chief, locomotive engineer or pilot in the future.

Peach & Tomato Caprese Salad
Peach and Tomato Caprese Salad
This salad is basically all the best flavors of summer, layered on a platter. Fresh, juicy peaches make for a sweet twist on this classic tomato and fresh mozzarella caprese salad, and a tangy white balsamic vinaigrette tie everything together wonderfully!

1 Garlic clove, minced
3 Tbsp Brown sugar
3 Tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
1/4 tsp Salt
2 Fresh peaches, cut into 1-inch pieces
2 lbs. Tomatoes, preferably heirloom, cut into bite size pieces (remove seeds and juices if plentiful)
4 Tbsp Fresh basil, chopped
8 oz Fresh mozzarella cut into bite size pieces
Fine sea salt & freshly ground black pepper, for serving
DIRECTIONS
-
In a large bowl, whisk together the vinegar, garlic, sugar, olive oil and salt until fully incorporated. 2. Add the peaches, tomatoes and the basil and toss with the dressing. 3. Mix in mozzarella. 4. Sprinkle with fine sea salt & freshly ground pepper to taste. Note: Alternatively, you can slice the peaches, tomatoes and mozzarella and arrange beautifully on a platter, then drizzle with dressing.

WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY?
What makes you happy? Is it a person, place or thing? A group of people, a pet, a home, a beautiful sunset, a favorite flower, favorite color, favorite song, etc. What one thing never fails to put a smile on your face and happiness in your heart? What makes you feel grateful and blessed?
Steve Haag tells us what makes him happy.
"Happiness for me is learning or trying something new and then being able to share it with others. More specifically, working with my kids to learn to cook a new meal, try a new food, play a sport, enjoy a new instrument. Or simply taking the time to appreciate all of God’s gifts."
"I feel blessed to have a job that allows me to be so active in my sons growth by being able to be their coach/room mom and parent. Also, I appreciate the fact that I am able to help dozens of kids by being a part of their learning experiences."
Thank you, Steve, for sharing with us what happiness means to you. It has been a pleasure to watch your sons growth and development through the years. Your stories of the boys and their antics as toddlers were laugh out loud funny.
