Have a safe and happy Labor Day weekend!

Labor Day quote

We hope everyone has a safe and happy Labor Day weekend. Metro Hall will be closed Monday, September 6.

Waste collection changes for Labor Day

There will be no residential garbage, recycling, yard waste or bulky waste collection within the Louisville Metro Urban Services District (former Louisville city limits) on Labor Day, Monday, September 6. Collection through the week will be delayed by one day because of the holiday. To receive automatic reminders of changes due to holidays, download our Recycle Coach app at the App Store or on Google Play.

Outdoor celebrations

Two Labor Day weekend traditions return to the waterfront this weekend -  WorldFest and the Mayor’s Hike, Bike & Paddle, presented by Norton Healthcare and Coca Cola Consolidated. Festivities will take place with updated COVID-19 protocols in place.

Worldfest
The 19th annual WorldFest kicks off at the Belvedere on Friday and runs through Monday. This year’s WorldFest will showcase three stages and a Global Village, representing more than 20 countries, including Louisville’s Sister Cities.

Mayor's Hike and Bike
While the paddling portion of the Mayor’s Hike, Bike and Paddle has been cancelled due to dangerous conditions on the Ohio River, the hiking and biking portions will go on as planned, starting from a new location at the Community Boat House at 1325 River Road.
