Remembering Deputy Sheriff Brandon Shirley

brandon

We wish to remember Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputy Brandon Shirley who was tragically ambushed and needlessly killed this week. Our heartfelt sympathy and prayers go out to his family, friends and colleagues. He was someone who showed valor a year ago when Tyler Gerth was tragically and needlessly killed.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral Homes, 5317 Dixie Highway, and the funeral will be held Wednesday at Southeast Christian Church on Blankenbaker Parkway,

The community is invited to to join a candlelight vigil tonight in honor of Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputy Brandon Shirley in Councilman Mark Fox's District (D-13). The candlelight vigil will take place at Fairdale Green, where Fairdale Road and Mitchell Hill Road meet. It is also known as the Fairdale Roundabout. It will begin at 9:00 p.m. at the gazebo. Representatives of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Louisville Metro Police will be at the service.

National Night Out

NNO

This past Tuesday, LMPD's 3rd and 4th Divisions hosted National Night Out at Iroquois Park, while the 6th and 7th Divisions hosted the event at the Jefferson Mall. National Night Out is a national community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships. We want to thank the police for organizing a great event and those who turned out to participate.
