• $2.9 Million for a pilot 911 Prioritization and Deflection Project 
• $279,400 for Goodwill Industries of Kentucky’s “Another Way” program, expanding a pilot program to a county-wide effort.

• The capital budget includes $2 million for renovation of the Portland Library at 3305 Northwestern Parkway, the Louisville Free Public Library branch most in need of renovation, including an elevator to make the second floor accessible to all library users.  The library is a historic Carnegie library, one of four still operating in Louisville.
•  “Parks for All” Equitable Investment Plan, to be matched by the Louisville Parks Foundation, to help develop a plan for equitable investments in parks throughout Louisville Metro ($200,000)
• Expanded effort to remove graffiti in the community ($150,700)
• Two additional Code Enforcement Officers and one Zoning Enforcement Officer to improve neighborhoods throughout Louisville.
• Additional funding to stabilize public safety by funding wages and staffing related with LMPD Corrections, and EMS.

Jefferson County (Various Locations):  Temporary shoulder closures possible at these locations for an ongoing LED lighting upgrade project:

• I-264 between Poplar Lane and Phillips Lane exits
• I-264 and I-65 interchange (including Crittenden Drive)

Permanent residents of Kentucky who have received at least the first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines or the one dose of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine are eligible. Permanent residents of Kentucky are eligible even if they received the vaccine in a different state.

Now in its third year, the Future Dreamers Civic Leadership Academy has graduated 40 leaders from 13 zip codes.

The 2021 Cultural Pass offers families in Greater Louisville with children ages 0-21 access to participate in arts and cultural activities provided by 51 venues, free of charge, from June 1 through August 8, 2021.

The Cultural Pass is designed to inspire, explore, and discover new experiences. After going virtual last year, this year Cultural Pass will offer both virtual and in-person experiences so that every family can participate in a way that works for them!

Love comes at all ages. Oliver is a mature cat, patiently waiting for a second chance forever home. He’s around 2-years-old and he entered the shelter shortly after his owner died. Oliver is still a bit shy, but friendly. An approved adopter can take Oliver home for free, thanks to the Pay It Forward Program. He’s already neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.

In Louisville Metro, it is the responsibility of the person living in a home to keep the front and rear of the property clean. This area extends from the middle of the street out front to the middle of any alleyways to the rear or side of the property. This applies to litter as well as plants and trees that could impede the alleyway or street. Inspections, Permits and Licenses (IPL) could cite and possibly impose a fine if you've got a lot of debris and plant overgrowth. Thank you for adhering to the local property maintenance codes and keeping a clean neighborhood.

Get directly involved in making Louisville a more litter-free community through the Report-A-Litterer program aimed at motorists who throw fast-food wrappers, cigarette butts, soda bottles or any type of litter out their car window. 

Report the license plate number to 311 to be verified (including a description of the vehicle) through the County Clerk's Office.  The owner of the vehicle will receive a letter saying that someone reported seeing litter being thrown from their vehicle, and reminding the owner that littering is punishable by a fine of up to $500 and/or up to a year in jail. An automobile litter bag also will accompany each letter.
