Today, Governor Andy Beshear lifted Kentucky's mask mandate and authorized businesses and venues to expand to 100% capacity.

Dr. Sarah Moyer, Louisville's Chief Health Strategist said there remains risk of exposure in people that are unvaccinated.

She said individuals that are have not been vaccinated should follow the safety measures by limiting contact with others, wearing a mask in public, and getting tested regularly. 

"A return to full capacity will raise the risk of exposure to those not vaccinated yet," Dr. Moyer said. "For those individuals, I hope the lift on restrictions and mandates serves as extra motivation to get vaccinated."

The Fan Fair giveaway qualifications and guidelines are as follows:

Individuals who need assistance scheduling a vaccine appointment or finding a vaccine site can call the LOU Health Helpline at (502)-912-8598.

Visit vaccines.gov to find vaccine providers in your area, or text your ZIP code to GETVAX (438829) to immediately receive addresses of nearby vaccination centers. Many offer online sign-up or walk-in visits as early as today.

In addition, there are options to host vaccine clinics where needed in the community. LG&E is ready to help our customers and, as previously communicated, we are notifying customers with past due balances prior to disconnects resuming and doing the following:

With an increase of illegal activity from vandalism, vehicle thefts and items stolen from vehicles to gun shots reported. LMPD has several tips that may seem simple but very effective!

1. Immediately report any suspicious person, activity (gunshots), or vehicles to (502) 574-7111 or (502) 574-TIPS. This is not just for vehicle vandalism but drug activity, home/garage vandalism, gun shots - ANY suspicious activity! Make a police report! IT DOES HELP IN GETTING ADDITIONAL POLICE OFFICERS IN OUR DISTRICT!

The scholarship, which launched Oct. 1, allows eligible students in the Class of 2021 to begin postsecondary studies tuition-free at any Kentucky Community and Technical College school, including Jefferson Community and Technical College, or Simmons College of Kentucky to pursue an associate degree or career credential, or take 60 hours of credit. The Evolve502 scholarship is a last dollar scholarship, meaning Evolve502 will fund the difference between federal and state financial aid and college tuition.

The application takes about five minutes to complete online at evolve502.org/scholarship. Once applications are submitted and reviewed, applicants will receive a follow-up email with next steps including completing the federal financial aid form and applying to eligible colleges.

The 2021 Cultural Pass offers families in Greater Louisville with children ages 0-21 access to participate in arts and cultural activities provided by 51 venues, free of charge, from June 1 through August 8, 2021.

The Cultural Pass is designed to inspire, explore, and discover new experiences. After going virtual last year, this year Cultural Pass will offer both virtual and in-person experiences so that every family can participate in a way that works for them!

Dog of the Week - Huey

Huey's been there, done that and now, he just wants to settle down with a nice family. The 5-year-old Black Mouth Cur mix gets along great with other dogs but thinks he’s far too mature for the antics of the younger adoptable dogs. Huey would love to have a fur sibling who’s laidback and enjoys frequent naps, just like him. Huey’s adoption fee is waived for an approved adopter. In Louisville Metro, it is the responsibility of the person living in a home to keep the front and rear of the property clean. This area extends from the middle of the street out front to the middle of any alleyways to the rear or side of the property. This applies to litter as well as plants and trees that could impede the alleyway or street. Inspections, Permits and Licenses (IPL) could cite and possibly impose a fine if you've got a lot of debris and plant overgrowth. Get directly involved in making Louisville a more litter-free community through the Report-A-Litterer program aimed at motorists who throw fast-food wrappers, cigarette butts, soda bottles or any type of litter out their car window. 

Report the license plate number to 311 to be verified (including a description of the vehicle) through the County Clerk's Office.  The owner of the vehicle will receive a letter saying that someone reported seeing litter being thrown from their vehicle, and reminding the owner that littering is punishable by a fine of up to $500 and/or up to a year in jail. An automobile litter bag also will accompany each letter.
