June 14 is Flag Day

Flag Day

Flag Day, June 14, commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777, by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.

Do you know how to properly dispose of a flag that is damaged or worn? The Veterans of Foreign Wars guide to flag etiquette includes instructions on folding a flag, history and more.

The United States Army also celebrates a birthday on this date; Congress adopted "the American continental army" after reaching a consensus position in the Committee of the Whole on June 14, 1775.
