Zoo employees, neighbors plan Give A Day clean-up April 17 - and April 24 if needed
This year the Louisville Zoo Staff and area neighbors are taking on a Mayor’s Give A Day Conservation Project. This clean-up will be along Beargrass Creek and the Jim King Trail from the Zoo to Schuff Lane.
The clean-up will be Saturday, April 17 from 8 a.m.to noon. If it is not finished, Saturday, April 24, from 8 to 10 a.m. will be added to the schedule.
Supplies will be handed out in the Zoo’s Bus Lot. Volunteers need to bring their own work gloves and dress for the weather and possible muddy conditions. Neighbors are welcome to participate! Waivers will need to be signed by non-staff volunteers. Email Marguerite.Esrock@louisvilleky.gov to let them know you are planning to be there
If you have a different clean-up area in mind, or if you need to volunteer virtually, the annual Mayor’s Give A Day continues through April 31. Learn more.
With support from Metro United Way and community organizations throughout the city, hundreds of volunteer opportunities will be available. Group and individual projects will be offered, some may be virtual, while others will be in-person in compliance with CDC and state COVID-19 guidelines to protect the health and safety of participants, and many will be outdoors. You can sign up to join at mygiveaday.com.
