Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Complex officially open

Reynolds at track dedication

The Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Complex officially opened Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the state-of-the-art, $53 million facility at 30th and Market streets.

In less than two years, Louisville Urban League CEO Sadiqua Reynolds raised the funds to build the facility. Reynolds is seen speaking at the complex in the photo above. The ribbon cutting brought city and state leaders together to celebrate the accomplishment and partnership, which included land and $10 million to start the project.

The facility has rock climbing, mini-bowling and space to hold a number of events, including concerts. Along with being a sporting venue, the center also promotes economic development and offers resources and opportunities to west Louisville residents.

At the ribbon cutting, Reynolds said she hopes the complex will raise the spirits and boost the pride of West Louisville.
