| Dear Neighbor,
We are certainly all thankful for warmth, working power, and clean water at our house during these wintry days. Please remember to check on your neighbors, family, and friends during the remaining snows this season.
Reminder to our residents of the Urban Services District that this weekend is Large Item Set Out - which most of us call Junk Pickup. Please set out large items from Friday to Sunday. Please expect delays due to the current weather situation.
We have also heard from neighbors that there have been some delays in garbage collection this week. Public Works has informed us that regular garbage pickup and yard waste requests are being performed as close to the regular schedule as possible, but are also being hampered by the weather. They have asked that we relay their plan to pick up any delayed routes by Saturday. They have also relayed that Junk Collection is on-schedule for next week. We ask that you please be patient as our city workers make their appointed rounds in adverse conditions.
Have a warm weekend,
Brent T. Ackerson 26th District Councilman
Junk Collection for everyone in the 26th District - only for those in Urban Services District - falls in Section K runs TODAY, February 19-21.
Please set out your junk items this weekend.
Also, please know that they have been much stricter in collection guidelines in recent years compared to pre-2019. Public Works will NOT likely collect anything outside their published guidelines.

If you are age 70 and over, click HERE to request an appointment.
If you are a non-medical first responder, corrections worker, or work in private or public K-12 school systems, you do not need to take any further action. We are working with your employers to schedule your appointments.
The health department states that less than 10,000 appointments are opening next week. Additional slots will become available as the state allocates more doses of the vaccine.
Metro Health anticipates that it will take three months to vaccinate individuals in tier 1B. Please be patient follow the health department on Facebook, Twitter, check our website for updates on appointment openings and to subscribe to COVID-19 health alerts via email.
