+ Louisville Water warns of potential scam activity
Louisville Water Company has received reports of people posing to be their employees to gain access to customer homes.
In response, they are asking people to beware of potential scam activity and take the following activities to ensure that the person visiting them is a valid Louisville Water employee:
-
Ask for identification. All Louisville Water employees have badges with their photo, employee ID no., and the Louisville Water Company logo. Do not allow anyone in the home that cannot present this badge.
-
Look for a Louisville Water vehicle. Louisville Water vehicles bear the company logo and a vehicle ID no. Typically, you'll see one parked somewhere on your street when employees are in the area.
-
Call the police. If you think someone is posing as a Louisville Water employee to enter your home, call the police immediately and alert your neighbors. Often times, imposters are checking to see if someone is home or is “casing” the home for valuables to return later and steal.
-
Call Louisville Water Company. Report any concerns to our customer service at 502.583.6610.

+ Louisville Metro seeking input to help shape support for minority-owned businesses
Louisville Metro Government is asking people to submit comments, questions, ideas, and that will help shape the city's decision-making around financially supporting the creation of an incubator to serve minority-owned businesses, or growth of an existing entity.
“Providing funds to a Minority Business Enterprise incubator is another action Louisville Metro is looking to take to help move the needle toward ensuring opportunity is evenly spread across our city.” Said Mayor Greg Fischer.
Commenters are encouraged to answer questions, including:
- Is a business incubator to serve minority-owned businesses needed in Louisville?
- What do you think a business incubator is and/or what should it include?
- What metrics should be used to measure the effectiveness of an incubator?
- What are the best examples of a minority-owned business incubator to model?
All comments must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15.
