Victims Services and Crime Prevention have teamed up to create the newly formed Jeffersontown Police Care Closet. Items will be available for officers to give out in a time of need for victims of crime or just a simple need. We have come across on occasion when officers have reached into their own pocket to buy items for people that need a helping hand. This initiative will hopefully give the resource for officers to better assist our community. We thank you in advance and appreciate any assistance.
Please consider donating items to help supply the Care Closet.

This friendly, energetic and affectionate dogl would be a loving companion for most families. Vanya’s adoption fee is waived thanks to the Pay It Forward Program, and she’s already spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccinations. Vanya weighs 70lbs. She knows several commands and she’s housetrained. Vanya can be tested with children, other dogs or cats by request. Recently, there was an event in the news where someone was killed who might have been meeting to complete a transaction from an online marketplace such as Craigslist, Ebay, Facebook, Nextdoor, ect.
If you are buying or selling items online, I want to remind you of our designated LMPD MetroSwap Zone Sites.
These areas are specifically set up for people to make buying and selling transactions. They are marked parking spaces located outside some of our LMPD Divisions, including the 7th Division at the Central Government Center located at 7201 Outer Loop. These areas are under 24 hour video surveillance with LMPD close by so they can quickly respond if needed.
Tips for using MetroSwap Zones:
• Agree to meet the person ONLY at a MetroSwap station.
• Meet only during daylight hours.
• Tell Someone you trust where you are meeting and at what time.
• Meet in the parking lot. There will be two (2) designated parking spots at each location for use.
• Make the interaction brief and to the point.
LMPD 2nd Division – 3419 Bohne Avenue
LMPD 3rd Division – 7219 Dixie Highway
