In Remembrance Of COVID 19 Victims Throughout Kentucky
In remembrance of over 100 victims of the COVID 19 virus in Kentucky, Metro Council President David James (D-6) has ordered the flags above Historic City Hall to fly at half-staff for one week.
This is in addition to the City Hall Clock Tower lighting green to show compassion and support during COVID 19 crisis along with the Big Four Bridge and the Kentucky Governor’s Mansion as a symbol of compassion.
In order to improve the paving efficiency and reduce the impact to residents that are staying in place, Public Works has decided to concentrate paving efforts to the arterial and collector classified roadways while traffic volumes have been drastically reduced, and minimize the amount of paving taking place on residential streets because of the challenges with enforcement of on-street parking restrictions. With so many residents staying at home, the demand for on-street parking in residential areas is consistent throughout the day and restricting parking to long segments of streets would create a hardship on abutting residents.
Public Works will continue on with utility restoration projects which have been outstanding for a couple years now Louisville Water Co. There will be some impacts to residents within the area, but in most cases, these will be much smaller segments where the water company has cut the roadway and 15 feet on either side. Below is an anticipated schedule for those final restoration areas which may move up or back depending on how well things progress or weather. Further updates to other utility projects in the future will be sent as received. |
