Louisville Metro Government sent this bulletin at 03/15/2020 09:04 PM EDT
Dear friends,
Mayor Greg Fischer and Dr. Sarah Moyer updated Metro Council Members and the Mayors of our Jefferson County League of Cities earlier this afternoon. I want to share the highlights up that update with you this evening. We now know the COVID-19 Coronavirus global pandemic is going to get worse before it gets better and it is up to each of us to stay focused on working through this together. Our unity and partnership is necessary as our medical professionals and scientists do their part. You will find information about emergency food operations included in this message along with health tips on when to seek help.

The Association of Community Ministries (ACM) is comprised of 13 individual community ministries covering all areas of Louisville Metro. Many of the ministries have already experienced an increase in requests for assistance. It is expected the volume of requests will continue to increase in the coming months due to the ripple effect of disrupted systems and the loss of work. An ACM online form has been created to quickly and easily sign up if you would like to volunteer. Go to: slcm.org/acm-covid19-response. Please reach out to me if you have questions. You can reach Wanda Mitchell-Smith or me at 574-1104 in our office or through email. We will do whatever it takes to help with the resources we have available to us. As we give the medical community time to find a pathway forward please know we have each other. Our job is to follow the published health guidelines, monitor our behaviors and focus on the decisions and choices we are making every day.
